Question: How bad do I hate Miguel Cabrera right now? And what about A-Rod? How bad do I hate those two players right now?
Answer: A lot.
Why? Oh, I don't know, maybe it's the fact that they froze the trade market. When A-Rod was a free agent, no one in baseball seemed to care about anything other then A-Rod being a free agent. Teams stopped trading and signing other free agents. It was like the whole market in baseball just froze over. The same thing is happening with Miguel Cabrera. Now teams like the Baltimore Orioles, who desperately need some different players, can't even trade. Almost every team has interest in Miguel Cabrera, so until he is traded or taken off of the trading block, all of Major League Baseball will be focused on one player. Which means teams like the Orioles can't make any moves. And it's not like the teams in the bidding for Cabrera really need another player. The O's are desperate for some new players. The O's are also desperate to get rid of Miguel Tejada, but the market is frozen. Fat chance of that now. I'm not saying for the teams in the bidding for Cabrera to just all of a sudden end the bidding. I'm just saying it sucks for teams like the O's that one player can freeze the whole market over. - John T.

The Orioles and Ange-lose don't want to make trades. That's been obvious for years. They could have moved Miguel Tejeda and his contract two seasons ago, gotten (at the time) a very good return from the Angels, moved on and not had to sign stiff free agents. What was their big move last off-season in the trade market? Acquiring Jaret Wright for Chris Britton? Remind me again.....just how many innings did they get from his tired arm?
Tejada should have been moved years ago, that's true.
And Jaret Wright got injured early in the year. The O's ended up dropping him after last season. He just wasn't worth it...
