You may want to sit down for this one, because it should come as a shock.
The Baltimore Orioles' franchise is worth roughly 395 million dollars as estimated by Forbes. Yes, 395 million dollars. Wait - This is the Orioles who had their 2nd lowest average attendance at Camden Yards last year, correct? And the O's who have had 10 straight losing seasons? Yes and yes. It's hard to believe, I know, but a main reason is because of MASN. The Mid Atlantic Sports Network, which is 90% owned by the team, is worth about another 400 million dollars at least. That's a main reason that the Orioles' franchise is worth that much money. Also, the O's are worth that much because of their stadium. Since it is a top ballpark, it increases the value of the team. But, 395 million dollars? Hey Peter Angelos, there's never been a better time to sell... - John T.
