Orioles News - 10/26/07 - Radio Ratings Up

Even though the Baltimore Orioles attendance is dropping, the O's radio ratings went up. The younger male audience ratings, which is considered to be the most wanted, went from a 3.6 share in 2006 to a 7.7 share in 2007. As a matter of fact, every single division of the O's listeners went up. Some even doubled their old shares from 2006 to 2007. Why the sudden increase? A big reason for this is he fact that the Orioles changed radio stations in 2007. The O's games used to be broadcast on WBAL, which is an AM station. Last year, the Orioles switched to WHFS, which is an FM station. That is the most likely cause of the Orioles increase in radio ratings, because it's not like Baltimore is winning a lot of games... - John T.
